The New York Theatre Experiment’s 3rd Annual Great American Pie Off turned out to be an afternoon full of fun and sugar. After debating what kind of pie to make I decided on a pie-shaped-pie with a traditional lattice top. I choose strawberries, asian pears, and basil for the filling because they looked the freshest at the market. It turned out super-yummy and I ended up winning the ‘Audience Favorite’ prize. This made me especially happy since I knew only a couple of people at the event. Hence, the title of this post!
There were some interesting entries including a pie with a swimming marzipan figure and a noodle-filled bolognese sauce pie (which won ‘Most Creative’). Learn more about the contest and theatre here: http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/newyorktheatreexperiment?ref=ts
