We all love the newly debuted Food Network baby, the Cooking Channel, right? I was an instant fan and immediately agreed when they called Spoon and asked me to film a little segment for their new show, Food(ography). The host, Mo Rocca is a smarty pants-harvard- funny guy so any show he is hosting has to be great. I was asked to make Pie Pops, versions of my little pie-lettes on a stick, for their episode on the history of pie.
It was fun to see the
other side of television – did you ever realize how slowly eggs are cracked on TV? And, how liquid ingredients get smoothly dripped into bowls? Gracefully doing anything isn’t my strongest point but I tried my best. Though it took nearly 5 hours, the segment will end up being around two minutes long. I’m hoping those two minutes do not include any of my ramblings.
From what I hear, the show will air in two months and will include pie-related segments from Pie ‘n’ Thighs and Del Posto.
Hi,
I just saw your pie pops on food(ology). I think small desserts are wonderful. Are you selling them nation wide? I’d love to buy some.
Sincerely,
Deb
